The Rhymney House Hotel has a reputation for paranormal activity. Visitors and staff alike have reported seeing apparitions of people in various parts of the building. One of the most frequently reported sightings is that of a menacing shadow at the top of the stairs, which seems to move of its own accord. Other apparitional sightings include a phantom figure walking through what was once an external wall, as well as various other figures including a man with a rod and an old lady by the fire.
