The Grey Nurse of Congress Hall
Congress Hall, E5
Congress Hall in Clapton has a dark history that's said to be reenacted by a phantom presence. Back in the 1930s, when the hall was a training base for Salvation Army officers, many reported seeing a ghostly woman dressed in a grey nurse's uniform. According to the story, she was believed to be Maria, a lady who tragically killed her own child and hid the body within the building. It's said that her spirit still roams the halls, a haunting reminder of the tragic events that took place there.
